The above information which is taken from records held by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. Other than that, the only information known about Thomas is that he enlisted in the Army at Stockport and was living in Bredbury at the time.  

His service number indicates he was an early recruit to the Battalion and was probably a pre-war Territorial soldier. Military records record that he "died" - a designation usually indicating natural causes. It has not been possible to identify him in the records of campaign medals awarded during the War. All the information suggests, therefore, that he never served overseas before he died.
