William HULME
Rank: Private
Number: 32571
Unit: 9th Battalion CHESHIRE reGIMENT
Date of Death: 3 May 1918
Cemetery: White House Cemetery, Ieper, Belgium

Nothing is known of William's private life except that Regimental records indicate he was born in Stockport and enlisted into the army in the town. His service number suggests this was in early 1916.

William is recorded as having died of wounds, but there is no clue from the Battalion's War Diary when this might have happened. The Cemetery where he is buried is close to the front line, so it is probable that he was wounded the day he died - possibly from shellfire.
