F JACKSON
Rank:
Number:
Unit: ARMY SERVICE CORPS
Date of Death:
Age:
Cemetery:

It has not been possible to identify this man recorded on the Stockport War Memorial as serving with the Army Service Corps.

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission records the names of 133 men called Jackson with "F" as a first initial (and more where F is a middle initial). Only two of these are recorded as serving with the ASC at the time of death (although others may have served in other units after serving with the Corps). One of these men is buried at Manchester Southern Cemetery and may be the man on the Memorial. If it is the same person, then he died after the end of the War, on 25 November 1918, and had been attached to the Vehicle Reception Depot at Kempton Park.
