Percy's birth was registered at Weaste, Salford, between October and December 1894. His parents were Philip and Florence Jane. The family are believed to have moved to Hazel Grove sometime between 1907 and 1910. Nothing else is known of Percy's life other than he joined the army at Stockport.

Percy's service number indicates he was a conscript into the army in late 1916. He was killed during a tour of duty in the front line described here. BY the early 1920s, when the War Graves Commission was collating its casualty information, Percy's father had died and his mother had moved to 16 Sewerby Street, Moss Side, Manchester.

Further information about Percy can be found in the book "Hazel Grove to Armageddon" by John Eaton.
