Frederick BRADY
Rank: private
Number: 2885
Unit: 1/6th Battalion CHESHIRE REGIMENT
Date of Death: 13 October 1916
Age: 18
Cemetery: Lonsdale Cemetery, Authille, Somme, France

Frederick was the son of John and Jessie Brady, 43 Carrington Field Street, Hillgate, Stockport. He enlisted in the army, in the town, around early 1915 and probably went overseas in the following autumn. He was killed whilst in the trenches during the Battle of the Somme.

Frederick will have been buried very close to where he died. After the war, these very small burial areas were closed as the land was returned to civilian use. Frederick's body will have been moved to his final resting place about four kilometres away.
